Illustrative example: a wooden stacking toy
This is a fictional example, not a customer case study. The product, statements, and document references below are invented to demonstrate the format. No actual product is assessed in this fictional section.
Scope: one product, three statements. In a commissioned review, each entry includes the actual source URL or supplied document reference, the date checked, and the product or version covered.
1. Manufacturing origin
Example statement: “Made in the USA.”
Example source: product page, checked on the review date; says assembly takes place in Vermont.
What it supports: a brand statement about assembly location.
Question to resolve: where are the wooden parts and other components made? The assembly statement alone does not establish the origin of every component.
Next source request: a product-specific manufacturing declaration identifying component origins.
2. Materials and finish
Example statement: “Solid maple with a plant-oil finish.”
Example source: a supplier sheet names maple; a separate finish sheet lists an oil blend.
What it supports: descriptions of those materials in the supplied sheets.
Question to resolve: do the sheets apply to the current product and all its components?
Next source request: a dated bill of materials and the current finish specification linked to this product.
3. Testing
Example statement: “Third-party tested.”
Example source: an FAQ makes the statement; no report is included in the review materials.
What it supports: the brand publicly states that testing occurs.
Question to resolve: which product, test, date, and laboratory does the statement refer to?
Next source request: the applicable report reference and product identifiers. A missing document in this review does not mean testing did not occur.
Real public-source example: Green Toys
Independent demonstration, checked October 15, 2026. Green Toys did not commission or approve this example. It reviews company-level public statements, not a named SKU or certificate.
Source: manufacturer's philosophy page. No publication date is shown; this is the access date.
- Origin: the company describes domestic and overseas production. Ask which origin applies to the selected SKU/version.
- Materials: the company describes recycled plastics. Ask for component coverage and percentage basis.
- Testing: the company states testing occurs. Ask for a product-matched report, laboratory, date and standard edition.
Evidence limit: this page is a manufacturer assertion. No product-specific report or certificate was inspected or matched. A document absent from this review does not establish that it does not exist. These requests remain unresolved; no safety, compliance or independent certification conclusion follows.
Clarification notes
Keep statements tied to the product and version the documents cover. Distinguish a supplier's declaration from an independently issued report. Resolve the open questions before broadening the language.
Your review
The US$149 pilot covers one product, up to three agreed claims, a dated source table, an evidence-gap list, and one factual clarification round. JC Senka prepares the review; scope, payment terms, and delivery date are agreed before an invoice.
This is desk research, not product testing, certification, legal advice, or a safety or compliance determination. Payment does not buy a verification label, favorable conclusion, placement, or sales.
