UKCA marking

UKCA is the conformity mark for goods placed on the market in England, Scotland and Wales. For toys the underlying technical requirements were carried over from the EU Toy Safety Directive, so in practice a UKCA-marked toy meets substantially what a CE-marked one does.

What it does not mean

As with CE, UKCA is largely self-declared. Northern Ireland continues to follow EU rules and uses CE or UKNI marking. The two regimes may drift apart over time, so the equivalence is current rather than permanent.
